About this product
Scrumdidleyumptious carries one of the most decorative flowers among Itoh peonies: cream with a pink edge and up to 15 cm across.
The flowers are dense, semi-double to double, with a light fragrance. The bloom lasts long because the side buds open after the main one, so a single plant flowers for several weeks in a row. The shrub is lower than most Itoh peonies: 53–76 cm tall and 76–91 cm wide. Hardy in Estonia without cover (USDA 4–8).

Advice from our agronomist
Plant the eyes 4–5 cm below soil level. This is the single most important figure for a peony. Planted deeper, it produces foliage and no flowers — for years. Set a container plant at exactly the depth it grew in the pot.
Do not mulch over the crown. A mulch layer acts as extra planting depth.
At least 6 hours of sun. In shade a peony grows but does not flower.
Go easy on nitrogen. Rich feeding gives lush foliage and no blooms.
Cut the foliage only after it browns. On an Itoh peony leave a few centimetres of stem — some woody shoots may set buds next season.
Do not expect full flowering in the first year. A peony reaches full strength over several seasons.
Never let water stand. The commonest cause of death in an Itoh peony is not cold but wet soil. On heavy clay, plant on a raised bed or lighten the soil with sand.
