About this product
Sargent's juniper Juniperus chinensis var. sargentii is a low, spreading, ground-hugging conifer with blue-green foliage. A good juniper to buy when you need an undemanding, dense, evergreen ground cover.
It grows in a sunny spot, tolerates drought and poor soil but dislikes wet ground. Use it on slopes, in rock gardens, Japanese-style gardens and between stones. No pruning needed; shorten overlong branches if required. Plant supplied in a 20 cm pot.

Advice from our agronomist
Planting Plant in spring or autumn (container plants can go in all season) in sun to light shade, in well-drained soil. Keep the root collar level with the ground and do not plant too deep.
Care Water regularly for the first two years, especially in a dry autumn before winter. Mulch the soil and feed with a conifer fertiliser in spring; little pruning is needed. Shield a young plant with a cover from winter sun and drying wind in its first winter.
Use Slopes, rock gardens, Japanese-style gardens and ground cover.
