Flaky juniper "Holger" (Juniperus squamata) is a slow-growing shrubby conifer with striking two-tone foliage: creamy-yellow new growth in spring against steel blue-grey older needles.
It forms a rounded, spreading shape and suits rock gardens, slope planting, waterside borders and containers. It tolerates urban conditions well.
The mature shrub reaches about 60-100 cm in height and 1.5-2 m in spread. Hardy (USDA 4-7) and drought tolerant once established. Supplied in a 20 cm pot.

Agronomo patarimai
Planting. Plant the juniper in spring or autumn in a sunny spot with well-drained soil. Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball and space plants at least 1 m apart.
Care. Care is simple: no regular pruning is needed. Remove only dead branches and mulch with bark to suppress weeds.
Watering and feeding. Water regularly in the first year, later only in drought. Feed in spring with a slow-release conifer fertiliser, avoiding excess nitrogen.
Winter and pruning. Hardy and needs no cover. In snowy winters shake heavy snow off the branches to prevent breakage.
