Agronomo patarimai
Planting. The best site is sunny, as the golden tone weakens in partial shade. Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball with the root collar at soil level; space plants 1.5–2 m apart because the shrub spreads widely.
Care. Care is easy: mulch the soil with bark and remove dry or damaged branches. Prune in spring and never cut back into bare wood, as new needles will not grow from it.
Watering and feeding. In the first year water every 7–10 days in dry weather; later the plant is drought tolerant and manages on rainfall. Apply a complete conifer fertiliser in spring.
Winter care. Mature plants overwinter without cover; mulch young plants for the first winter and shake heavy wet snow off the crown so the branches do not break.
