Where the litre pays off. On lawns and in a larger garden. For a small flower bed a litre will sit for years, and an opened bottle does not keep forever — match the size to what you actually grow.

Into the soil, not onto the leaves. This works in the ground: water at the root. A foliar spray gives no benefit and does leave marks.

At planting. A 1 % solution into the hole before planting and 5 % straight after. The difference shows most on trees, shrubs and perennials whose roots were disturbed.

On the lawn. In spring as it wakes and in August after a dry summer. Grass roots go deeper and the lawn stands drought better.

For houseplants. Weaker and less often — once a month during growth. Do not wake a plant that is resting in winter.

Safety and storage. The concentrate stains hands and clothes brown, so wear gloves. Keep it cool but not frozen: freezing costs it some of its effect. Close the bottle tightly.
