Seller: ALLIKASILM
About this product
Savoy cabbage "Verita F1" (Brassica oleracea var. sabauda) is a mid-late hybrid for summer and autumn harvest. The packet holds 1 g of seed from the Lithuanian brand Žalia stotelė. Buy "Verita" savoy cabbage seeds in Estonia from the ALLIKASILM nursery.
Heads are large and round, about 2.2 kg, well wrapped by outer leaves. They mature 95–100 days after transplanting, in August–September.
Savoy copes with temperature swings and drought better than white cabbage. The tender leaves are good fresh and ideal for stuffed cabbage rolls; it is not meant for long storage.

Advice from our agronomist
Planting. Sow in March–April in a tray, 1 cm deep, and grow the seedlings somewhere cool and bright. Plant out in the second half of May in a sunny bed, 60 × 50 cm apart.
Watering and feeding. Cabbage needs plenty of water and food: add compost or well-rotted manure before planting and feed 2–3 times with a nitrogen- and potassium-rich fertiliser. Water generously in dry weather.
Care. Earth up the plants once established and keep the bed weed-free. Cover young plants with mesh or fleece against flea beetles and cabbage whites.
Gardener's tip. Savoy does not store well – sow two small batches a few weeks apart for fresh heads all autumn.
