Potato "Colomba" is an early table potato variety from the Dutch breeding company HZPC, well suited to home gardens and early harvests. A popular choice for growers who want the first new potatoes of the summer.
The variety has fast tuber bulking and early skin set. Tubers are large, oval, with yellow skin and yellow flesh; cooking type AB (fairly firm, keeps its shape when boiled). It is high yielding and highly resistant to potato cyst nematode (Ro1/4, Pa2) and PVY.
Colomba is great for boiling, roasting, salads and serving as new potatoes. A good choice for gardeners who want an early, attractive and easy-to-grow potato.

Agronomo patarimai
Planting. Plant tubers when the soil has warmed to at least 8 °C, usually in early May. Chitting in the light for 3–4 weeks brings the harvest forward. Plant 8–10 cm deep with about 70 cm between rows.
Watering and feeding. Potatoes need even moisture, especially during flowering and tuber formation. Before planting add potato fertiliser or well-rotted compost; avoid fresh manure.
Care. Earth up 2–3 times, keep weeds down and watch for late blight in wet summers. Rotate crops – do not grow potatoes in the same spot several years in a row.
Harvest. As an early variety, the first new potatoes can be lifted in midsummer. For storage, harvest after the haulm has died back and the skin has set; dormancy is short, so store in a cool, dark place.
