About this product
Crop cover — a light white fleece for spring that does two jobs on the bed at once: it lifts the temperature by a couple of degrees and keeps pests off the crop without any spraying.
Cabbage root fly, carrot fly and flea beetle cannot get under it — they lay where they can reach. So carrots, brassicas, radish and turnip are covered right after sowing, and the cover stays until the plants are too big for the fly to matter.
The fleece passes water and light: water straight through it and lift it only for thinning. At 1.6 x 5 m it covers one ordinary bed. Producer Baltic Agro, Estonia.

Advice from our agronomist
Cover the bed immediately after sowing: the fly finds the crop within the first week, and covering later shuts the eggs in with it.
Leave slack at the edges and bury them with soil or weigh them with stones — a loose edge is a door.
Lay the fleece loosely: the plants lift it themselves as they grow.
On brassicas (cabbage, radish) leave it on all season; on carrots until mid-July.
Do not cover the same crop in the same spot two years running: if fly pupae are in the soil, the cover protects them rather than excluding them.
