About this product
Coconut mat — a mat of natural coir laid on the soil around a young plant. It keeps weeds out and slows evaporation, so a young plant does not go thirsty between waterings.
Unlike film, coir lets water and air through and breaks down into the soil in time. The mat can also be used to shelter a tender plant from cold.
Size 0,5 × 1,5 m (0,75 m²). Made by Baltic Agro, coir from Sri Lanka.

Advice from our agronomist
Lay it right after planting. The mat works against weeds while there are none yet; on a circle already overgrown it is of no use.
Keep it off the stem. Leave 2-3 cm of bare soil at the stem, or the bark sweats under constantly damp fibre.
Pin it down. A dry mat is light and the wind takes it — fix the edges with ground staples.
