About this product
Julian H cucumber seeds (Cucumis sativus) – a gherkin hybrid for outdoor growing. The fruit is regular, 8–10 cm long, light green with large tubercles and does not overgrow easily.
Ideal for pickling, fermenting and fresh eating. Cucumbers love warmth: sow outdoors once the soil at 10 cm depth has reached 13–14 °C, in a spot sheltered from wind.

Advice from our agronomist
Sowing Sow in mid April to early May 1–2 cm deep in individual pots and keep at 22–25 °C; seedlings emerge in 3–7 days. Direct sowing outdoors is possible in early June.
Planting out Plant 3–4-week-old seedlings into a greenhouse in late May or outdoors in early June once frosts have passed; space plants 30–40 cm apart in rows 60–70 cm apart.
Care Water regularly and evenly with warm water, keeping the leaves dry. Tie the plants to a support, feed with a liquid fertiliser every two weeks and keep the soil loose and mulched.
Harvest Pick the fruits regularly, every 1–2 days, while they are young and green; frequent picking keeps the plants fruiting until autumn.
