Advice from our agronomist
Sowing Sow from late April to early June 3–5 cm deep, 5 cm apart in rows 40–50 cm apart. Seedlings emerge in 7–14 days; the seeds can be soaked for 12 hours beforehand.
Care Give taller cultivars support (netting or twigs). Water especially during flowering and pod filling; keep the rows weed-free and avoid excess nitrogen.
Harvest Pick the pods regularly once the peas have filled out; frequent picking prolongs cropping. Pick sugar peas before the seeds are fully developed.
