Seller: ALLIKASILM
About this product
Pumpkin "Hokkaido Orange" (Cucurbita maxima) is an early variety with small orange fruit and sweet, nutty flesh. The packet holds 2 g of seed from the Organic Way brand. Buy "Hokkaido Orange" pumpkin seeds in Estonia from the ALLIKASILM nursery.
The fruit is small, about 2–3 kg, with a soft skin and yellowish flesh. Thanks to the thin skin there is no need to peel it.
Use it for preserves, salads and jam, as well as soups and roasting. Pumpkins need a sunny, warm spot.

Advice from our agronomist
Planting. Sow in pots in April, 4 cm deep, and plant out after the last frost, or sow direct into warm soil in late May – June. Space plants 70 × 60–70 cm.
Watering and feeding. Pumpkins are hungry – plant in a bed rich in compost or manure. Water less often but deeply, especially while the fruit swells; reduce watering as it ripens.
Care. Mulch the soil and cover young plants with fleece on cool nights. In late August pinch out the vine tips and remove new flowers so the set fruit can ripen.
Gardener's tip. Harvest before autumn frosts once the stalk is woody. Cure the fruit in a warm place for 1–2 weeks – the flavour gets sweeter.
