Advice from our agronomist
Planting Plant in spring or autumn in a sunny spot with well-drained soil; wet soil is unsuitable. Space plants 30–50 cm apart (up to 60 cm for tall cultivars).
Watering Water in the first year; later the plant is drought tolerant.
Pruning After flowering cut off the spikes with a little green growth and shape lightly in spring; never cut into old wood.
Feeding and winter care No feeding is needed; too much food makes the plant floppy. In the coldest areas cover lightly with branches or fleece; wet winter soil is dangerous.
