Leucanthemum maximum 'Mayfield Giant' is a Shasta daisy, the classic garden daisy with large white flowers and yellow centres on sturdy stems. A long-lived, easy perennial for any sunny border. Buy Leucanthemum 'Mayfield Giant' in Estonia from the ALLIKASILM nursery.
It grows up to 90 cm tall and forms a dense clump. It flowers from June to August, longer if deadheaded. The blooms are large and last well in a vase, making it a good cut flower.
Shasta daisy is very hardy (USDA zone 4–5) and needs no winter cover in Estonia. It likes sun and fertile, well-drained soil. Good for cottage gardens, mixed borders and bouquets, and it attracts pollinators.

Agronomo patarimai
Planting. Plant from spring to early autumn in full sun, 40–50 cm apart. Add compost to the planting hole and lighten heavy clay with sand, as Shasta daisies dislike standing water.
Watering and feeding. Water after planting and during long dry spells. Feed in spring with compost or a perennial fertiliser; too much nitrogen makes stems flop.
Care. Deadhead spent flowers to prolong blooming. Tall stems may need support. Cut stems back near the ground in autumn.
Gardener's tip. Divide the clump every 3–4 years in spring; rejuvenated plants flower more freely and stay compact.
