Cushion bush and wire vine combination (Leucophyta brownii + Muehlenbeckia) — two contrasting plants in one pot: the silver, coral-like stems of Leucophyta (Calocephalus) and the fine dark trailing stems with tiny round bright green leaves of Muehlenbeckia spilling over the rim. The combination is about 25–40 cm tall, with Muehlenbeckia trails hanging 20–40 cm. Both plants are grown for their foliage and stay attractive from summer into late autumn.
A ready-to-use display for balconies, doorsteps, hanging pots and autumn grave planting. The plants are tender: Leucophyta tolerates light frost to about −5 °C and Muehlenbeckia to about −10 °C, so in Estonia the pot is used as a seasonal display.

Agronoma ieteikumi
Planting. Plant the combination as one root ball, without separating the plants, into a slightly larger pot or balcony box with a drainage layer. Choose a sunny spot sheltered from strong wind.
Watering and feeding. Water moderately: Leucophyta dislikes wet roots and copes better with slight dryness than with standing water. Muehlenbeckia likes slightly moister compost, so water on its side of the pot. Little feeding is needed — a weak balcony plant fertiliser once a month is enough.
Care. Remove any browned Leucophyta twigs and trim overlong Muehlenbeckia trails with scissors to keep a neat shape. When autumn frosts fall below −5 °C, cover the pot or move it to a cool, bright room.
Gardener's tip. Silver Leucophyta looks especially striking next to heather, chrysanthemums and dark heucheras — an instant autumn display with no fuss.
