Advice from our agronomist
Planting Plant in spring or autumn in sun or part shade in well-drained soil, bulb 15–20 cm deep and 25–30 cm apart; the base of the plant likes shade.
Watering Water regularly during growth, not over leaves or flowers; standing water causes bulb rot.
Pruning Remove faded flowers; do not cut the stem until it turns yellow.
Feeding and winter care Feed in spring when shoots emerge and after flowering with a potassium-rich fertiliser. Cover with mulch or spruce branches in autumn, especially oriental lilies.
