About this product

Organic buckwheat husks — the husks left after hulling buckwheat, put to work in the garden as mulch, fertiliser and a soil improver. They carry both major and trace nutrients in natural form.

A layer of husks holds moisture and keeps weeds down, and as it breaks down it improves soil structure: heavy, sticky soil becomes looser, soil life gets more active and decomposition speeds up. The husks also lower soil acidity.

Pack of 10 l. Made by Baltic Agro, produced in Estonia.

Advice from our agronomist

A 3-5 cm layer. Spread the husks on weeded, watered soil — mulch laid on dry ground simply keeps it dry.

Do not dig it in at once. The husks work from above; they can be mixed into the soil in autumn, once the layer has settled and partly broken down.

Top it up once a season. The mulch gradually rots away — that is the point, but the layer needs renewing.
