Planting. Split the bulb into cloves and plant in autumn (late September to October), about 5 cm deep and 10–15 cm apart, pointed end up; position: full sun; soil: fertile, moderately moist.
Care. Water regularly in dry weather. Keep the bed free of weeds. Harvest when the lower leaves turn yellow and dry the bulbs in a shaded, airy place.
Winter. Autumn-planted garlic overwinters in the ground; mulch the bed lightly.
