About this product
Siberian cypress Microbiota decussata is a low, spreading conifer with soft, flat foliage and arching branches that turns bronze in winter. It is a good buy if you need a very hardy, shade-tolerant and undemanding ground cover.
It grows in sun or part shade and accepts poorer soil but dislikes standing water. Use it on slopes, in rock gardens, in groups and on north-facing sites where junipers struggle. Plant sold at 25–30 cm tall.

Advice from our agronomist
Planting Plant in spring or autumn (container plants can go in all season) in sun to light shade, in well-drained soil. Keep the root collar level with the ground and do not plant too deep.
Care Water regularly for the first two years, especially in a dry autumn before winter. Mulch the soil and feed with a conifer fertiliser in spring; little pruning is needed. Shield a young plant with a cover from winter sun and drying wind in its first winter.
Use Slopes, rock gardens, group plantings and ground cover in part shade.
