Sowing. Fill a tray with drainage holes with 2–3 cm of moist substrate (coir, peat or hemp mat). Scatter the cress seeds densely in a single layer, press them down lightly and mist; do not cover with soil. Cover with a lid or film.

Germination. Keep the tray covered and warm (18–22 °C) for the first 2–3 days, then remove the lid on day 3 and move it to a bright place away from strong midday sun. The substrate must stay evenly moist but never waterlogged.

Watering and light. Water from below or with a mister 1–2 times a day and ventilate well to prevent mould. Good light (windowsill or lamp, 12–14 h) gives a deep green colour and sturdy stems.

Harvest and storage. Cut the microgreens with scissors at the base on day 7–10. Store cut greens in a container in the fridge for 5–7 days; keep dry seed in its pack in a cool, dark, dry place with the bag sealed tightly.
