Advice from our agronomist
Planting. Plant in autumn or early spring in a sunny place. Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball and add compost; plant 5–7 cm deeper than it grew in the pot. Space bushes 1–1.5 m apart.
Care. Mulch the base with compost or bark and remove weeds. Watch for big bud mite and mildew.
Watering and feeding. Water in drought and while berries swell. Give nitrogen or balanced fertiliser in spring and potassium and phosphorus in autumn.
Winter care and pruning. Overwinters without cover. After harvest or in late winter remove old (over 4–5 years), weak and crowded branches, leaving 10–12 strong shoots of mixed ages.
