Rodent protection tree guard 6 × 80 cm is a black plastic mesh trunk guard for young trees that protects the bark from hares, voles and roe deer. The pack contains 8 guards, each 6 cm in diameter and 80 cm tall. Buy tree guards in Estonia from the ALLIKASILM nursery.
In winter, when food is scarce, rodents readily gnaw the bark of young apple, pear and ornamental trees – a single night can kill a tree. The mesh keeps animals away from the bark but lets air through, so the bark does not rot underneath. It also protects the trunk from strimmers and robotic mowers.
The mesh is UV-resistant, flexible and reusable, with a 2 × 3 mm mesh size. It is easy to put around the trunk and remove later without harming the tree. Suitable for fruit trees, ornamental trees, shrubs and hedge plants.

Agronomo patarimai
Planting. Fit the guard at planting time or at the latest in autumn before the first snow. Open the mesh along the slit, wrap it around the trunk and press the bottom edge 2–3 cm into the soil so voles cannot get in from below.
Watering and feeding. Before fitting, clear grass and mulch from around the trunk – dense growth at the base attracts voles. Water and feed the tree as usual; the mesh does not hinder watering.
Care. Check in spring and autumn that the guard does not cut into the thickening trunk; replace it with a larger one if needed. In snowy winters make sure the snow does not rise above the top of the guard – hares can then reach higher.
Gardener's tip. For deep snow or roe deer use two guards one above the other or add a stronger mesh fence. The guard can stay on the trunk all year – it also protects against strimmers.
