The best-known trouble with conifers is browning needles — and most often the cause is not disease but a magnesium shortage. Magnesium sits at the centre of the chlorophyll molecule: without it a needle cannot hold its green. In this fertiliser the magnesium comes as Epsom salt, in an immediately available form.
A liquid feed reaches the roots with the watering and acts faster than a granule: in spring, after a hard winter, the difference shows within a couple of weeks.
It suits spruce, pine, thuja, juniper, Douglas fir and other conifers — in a hedge or as a specimen.

Advice from our agronomist
Feed in spring and early summer; stop in August — late nitrogen leaves new growth unripened for winter.
Water with plain water first and pour the solution under the edge of the canopy, not against the trunk.
Brown needles after winter are not always a deficiency: a hedge may have suffered road salt or winter desiccation. Look at which side the damage is on.
Conifers are never limed — they prefer acid soil.
Keep a mulch layer over the roots: conifer roots are shallow and suffer quickly from drought.
