Conifer fertiliser Baltic Agro, 4 kg
Seller: ALLIKASILM
About this product
Conifer fertiliser is made for spruce, thuja, cypress, pine, juniper and other evergreens. It supports growth and strengthens the plant, and thanks to magnesium it helps conifers recover from spring sun scorch and gives the needles a deep green.
Magnesium is exactly what an ordinary garden feed lacks for conifers: without it the needles stay yellowish even when everything else is plentiful.
The bag holds 4 kg — 1 kg covers about 11 m². Produced by Baltic Agro.

Advice from our agronomist
Spring scorch. In March the sun reflects off the snow, the needles lose water and the frozen roots cannot replace it — the needles brown. Fertiliser will not prevent that, but it helps recovery: magnesium sits at the centre of the chlorophyll molecule and is what brings the green back.
When to feed. First in March–April once the soil has thawed, again in late May, a third time in late July. Not after August — late nitrogen leaves new shoots unripened and they die back in winter.
Where to put it. Under the edge of the canopy, not against the trunk: the feeding roots are where the canopy ends. Work it in lightly and water thoroughly.
For a thuja hedge. Calculate per running metre, not per plant: about 40–50 g per metre. Feed both sides of the hedge so it grows evenly.
Conifers want acid soil. Never lime under them. If the needles yellow on chalky ground, no feed will fix it — the soil has to be acidified first.
Watering matters just as much. Conifers keep their leaves and lose water even in winter. Water deeply in autumn before the frosts: most "frost damage" is actually drying out.
