Advice from our agronomist
Light and position Grows in bright indirect light; tolerates light shade but grows more slowly. Strong midday sun can scorch the leaves.
Watering Water when the soil is dry 3–5 cm deep; the trunk stores water, so overwatering is riskier than dryness. Water less in winter.
Humidity and care Tolerates normal room humidity. Turn the pot now and then so the crown grows evenly; wipe the leaves.
Feeding and repotting Feed every 4 weeks in the growing season with a foliage fertiliser; not in winter. Repot in spring every 2–3 years.
