Saulespuķe Helianthus annuus, sēklas Nojaus 5 g
Pārdevējs: ALLIKASILM
Par preci
Sunflower Helianthus annuus from the Lithuanian producer Nojaus sėklos is an annual oil and food plant with large golden-yellow flower heads. Buy sunflower seeds in Estonia from the ALLIKASILM nursery – the packet holds 5 g.
The seeds are eaten fresh, roasted or salted and pressed for oil; they are rich in vitamins A, D and E, magnesium and polyunsaturated fats. Sunflowers prefer loose, limy soil and a warm spot sheltered from wind.
Sow direct outdoors in April–May, about 3 cm deep, at 60 × 60 cm; seeds are harvested from August to October. The tall stems make a living screen or a support for climbers, and the flowers attract bees.

Agronoma ieteikumi
Planting. Sow outdoors in late April–May, 2–3 seeds per station about 3 cm deep, stations 60 cm apart. After emergence keep only the strongest seedling. Choose a sunny spot sheltered from wind.
Watering and feeding. Water moderately until flowering, then generously while seeds fill – less often but deeply. On poor soil add compost and wood ash at sowing; too much nitrogen makes the stems soft.
Care. Stake tall plants. Once the heads start to fill, cover them with gauze or netting against birds. Harvest when the back of the head turns yellow-brown and the seeds come out easily.
Gardener's tip. Hang the cut heads upside down in a warm, airy place to finish drying – the seeds then shake out easily and keep well in paper bags.
