Moss phlox (Phlox subulata) is a low evergreen ground-cover perennial that is completely covered with flowers in spring. This plant has pink flowers. Buy moss phlox 'Rose' in Estonia from the ALLIKASILM nursery.
It stays only 10–15 cm tall and spreads 50 cm or more, forming a dense carpet of needle-like leaves. It flowers from April to June, mainly in May.
The species is very hardy (USDA 2–3) and drought tolerant. For rock gardens, walls and slopes, edging and balcony boxes.

Agronoma ieteikumi
Planting. Plant in full sun in light, well-drained soil; add sand or grit to heavy soil. Space 25–30 cm apart – the carpet closes in 1–2 years.
Watering and feeding. Water after planting and in long droughts. Moss phlox needs little feeding – a small dose of balanced fertiliser in spring is enough.
Care. After flowering cut stems back by a third to keep the mat dense and encourage fresh growth. Weed until the carpet closes. Divide old, thinning plants in spring.
Gardener's tip. Moss phlox is ideal for cracks in stone walls and slopes, where it tumbles down in a flowering cascade; mix with other colours for a patchwork effect.
