Ninebark "Lady in Red" (Physocarpus opulifolius) is a cultivar with dark red, almost purple foliage and pinkish-white rounded flower clusters.
The bush is upright and dense, 1.5–2 m tall. The leaves keep their deep colour all summer and in June the bush is decorated with dense corymbs.
The plant is hardy, undemanding as to soil and tolerates pruning well. It looks excellent in a hedge and as an accent against green planting.

Agronomo patarimai
Planting. Choose a sunny or lightly shaded spot with well-drained soil. Dig the hole twice as wide as the root ball and keep the root collar level with the ground.
Care. Mulch around the base with bark or compost, 5–7 cm deep, to hold moisture and suppress weeds.
Watering and feeding. Water regularly in the first season, afterwards only in dry weather. In spring apply a balanced fertiliser for ornamental shrubs.
Winter and pruning. The plant overwinters without cover. Prune in early spring: remove frost-damaged and crowded shoots and shape the bush if you wish.
