About this product
Mountain pine Pinus mugo is a low, shrubby and very hardy pine with a dense crown that stays green all year. A good buy if you want an undemanding conifer for a slope, rock garden or large container.
It prefers sun and well-drained, even poor, soil and tolerates wind and city air. Shorten the young shoots (candles) by half in spring to thicken the crown. Water in dry weather in the first year.

Advice from our agronomist
Planting Plant in spring or autumn (container plants can go in all season) in sun to light shade, in well-drained soil. Keep the root collar level with the ground and do not plant too deep.
Care Water regularly for the first two years, especially in a dry autumn before winter. Mulch the soil and feed with a conifer fertiliser in spring; little pruning is needed. Shield a young plant with a cover from winter sun and drying wind in its first winter.
Use Slopes, rock gardens, large containers and conifer groupings.
