Carrot "Early Nantes 5" (Daucus carota) by Mr.Fothergill's is a 6 m seed tape: the seeds are already spaced on a paper strip, so no thinning is needed.
"Early Nantes 5" is an early Nantes-type carrot with cylindrical 16–18 cm roots, a thin skin and a small core. It is suited to early eating and short-term storage.
A seed tape is easy for beginners and quick to sow: lay the tape in a drill, cover with soil and water. The pack holds 6 m of tape, enough for one bed row.

Agronoma ieteikumi
Sowing. Sow the tape outdoors from early May to early June (earlier in a warm greenhouse). Make a drill about 1–1.5 cm deep, lay the tape, cover lightly with soil and firm gently; keep rows 20–30 cm apart.
Care. Keep the soil evenly moist until the seedlings emerge. Weed and loosen between rows so roots grow straight. No thinning is needed because the seeds are spaced on the tape.
Watering and feeding. Water regularly and evenly to avoid split roots. Use well-rotted compost rather than fresh manure; too much nitrogen gives lots of leaves and small roots.
Harvest and storage. Pull early roots once they reach a usable size and use them fresh or store briefly in a cool, dark place.
