Shrubby cinquefoil (Potentilla fruticosa) 'Abbotswood' is one of the best-known white potentillas – a compact, dense shrub covered all summer in pure white flowers with yellow centres. Buy Potentilla 'Abbotswood' in a 15 cm pot in Estonia from ALLIKASILM nursery.
Height 0.6–1 m, spread up to 1.2 m. Flowers from June to September, and the fine blue-green foliage stays attractive all season. The variety holds the Royal Horticultural Society's RHS AGM.
Ideal for low hedges, border edges and rock gardens, or in groups with other shrubs. Fully hardy (RHS H7) and undemanding – a reliable choice for Estonian gardens.

Agronomo patarimai
Planting. Plant in a sunny spot in well-drained soil; container plants can go in from spring to autumn. For a hedge, space plants 40–50 cm apart.
Watering and feeding. Water regularly in dry spells during the first year; once established it copes well with drought. A general shrub fertiliser in spring is enough.
Care. In early spring remove old and weak stems and shorten shoots by a third to keep the shrub dense and free-flowering.
Gardener's tip. 'Abbotswood' flowers most in full sun; its white blooms pair beautifully with silver- and blue-leaved plants.
