About this product
Sweet cherry "Leningradi Must" (Prunus avium, also known as Leningradskaya Chornaya) is a legendary Russian variety with very sweet dark fruit and high winter hardiness.
The tree is vigorous and the fruit is dark red, almost black, juicy and sweet. It ripens in July and suits eating fresh, compote and freezing.
The variety is considered one of the hardiest sweet cherries. For fruiting it needs another sweet cherry variety nearby as a pollinator.

Advice from our agronomist
Planting. Plant in spring or early autumn in a sunny, sheltered spot where water does not stand. Keep the root collar at soil level and tie the young tree to a stake.
Care. Keep the base free of weeds and mulch it. For reliable fruiting it is best to plant a second pollinating variety nearby.
Watering and feeding. In the first years water weekly in dry weather. From the third year apply a nitrogen fertiliser in spring and a potassium-phosphorus one in summer.
Winter and pruning. In spring remove dead, diseased and crowded branches and shape the crown. Whitewash the trunk for winter and protect it from rodents.
