Par preci
Pear "Conference" (Pyrus communis) is one of Europe's best-known varieties, with long green-yellow fruit and russeting on the skin.
The fruit is juicy, tender and sweet with soft, buttery flesh. It is picked at the end of September, becomes ripe for eating in October–November and keeps for several weeks in storage.
The variety is partly self-fertile, crops regularly and copes well with our climate. For a better yield another pear variety can be planted nearby.

Agronoma ieteikumi
Planting. Plant in spring or early autumn in a sunny, sheltered spot where water does not stand. Keep the root collar at soil level and tie the young tree to a stake.
Care. Keep the base free of weeds and mulch it. For reliable fruiting it is best to plant a second pollinating variety nearby.
Watering and feeding. In the first years water weekly in dry weather. From the third year apply a nitrogen fertiliser in spring and a potassium-phosphorus one in summer.
Winter and pruning. In spring remove dead, diseased and crowded branches and shape the crown. Whitewash the trunk for winter and protect it from rodents.
