Apie prekę
Radish Raphanus sativus 'Forum' is a radish variety from the Lithuanian seed company Agrofirma Sėklos (Žalia stotelė range). Buy 'Forum' radish seeds in Estonia from the ALLIKASILM nursery – the packet holds 1 g.
Radish is the fastest crop in the vegetable garden: the first roots are usually ready 3–5 weeks after emergence. We found no detailed published data on 'Forum' itself, so the advice below is for the species.
Seed germinates at just +2…+4 °C, so you can sow from April, repeat until mid-May and again from late July. Radishes like loose, fertile soil and steady moisture – that keeps the roots juicy, solid and mild.

Agronomo patarimai
Planting. Sow outdoors from April, as soon as the soil has thawed, and repeat every 10–14 days until mid-May; a second sowing runs from late July into August. Sow 1–1.5 cm deep, rows 10–15 cm apart, 3–5 cm between plants. Seed germinates at just +2…+4 °C.
Watering and feeding. Keep the soil evenly moist – in dry spells radishes turn woody, split and become hot. Work well-rotted compost into poor soil beforehand; do not use fresh manure.
Care. Thin seedlings at the seed-leaf stage and hoe between rows. In the long days of June–July radishes bolt easily, so skip midsummer sowings or give light shade. Cover with fleece right after sowing to keep flea beetles off.
Gardener's tip. Sow little and often – a short row every two weeks gives fresh radishes all season without any going woody.
