Advice from our agronomist
Use. For loosening and levelling soil after digging, preparing seed beds, raking out stones and roots and collecting leaves and grass clippings.
How to use. When levelling, pull the rake towards you with the tines; to smooth the bed surface, turn the rake over and push the soil with the flat side. Do not use the rake as a lever.
Care and storage. Clean soil off the tines after use, let it dry and store the rake in a dry place with the tines facing the wall or upwards. Oil the wooden handle from time to time.
Gardener’s tip. Before sowing small seeds such as carrots or lettuce, rake the top layer to a fine, even tilth for more uniform germination.
