Redcurrant Ribes rubrum Viksnes is a hardy berry shrub that bears plenty of red, sweet-sour berries in summer. A good buy if you want an undemanding, productive berry bush.
It prefers sun and fertile, well-drained soil. Water in dry spells, especially while the berries ripen. Remove branches older than 4–5 years in late winter, as young and middle-aged wood fruits best.
