Arctic bramble (Rubus arcticus) "Marika" is a low perennial berry plant with highly aromatic dark red berries. Buy an arctic bramble plant in a 9 cm pot in Estonia from the ALLIKASILM nursery.
Plants grow 10–30 cm tall and spread by underground shoots into a dense mat. Pink flowers open in June–July and berries ripen from July to August.
Arctic bramble is a very hardy northern species. The berries are excellent fresh, in jam and liqueurs, and the plant also makes an ornamental ground cover.

Agronomin neuvot
Planting. Plant in spring or early autumn in a sunny spot with moist, humus-rich, slightly acid soil, 20–30 cm apart. Add peat or compost to the planting hole.
Watering and feeding. Arctic bramble dislikes drying out – water regularly and mulch. Feed lightly in spring with a berry fertiliser.
Care. Keep the bed weed-free, especially in the first years until the plants knit into a dense mat. Old stems can be removed in autumn.
Gardener's tip. Arctic bramble is self-sterile – plant at least two different varieties side by side for a good crop.
