Apie prekę

The yellow raspberry Rubus idaeus 'Golden Everest' bears large golden-yellow berries. Buy it in Estonia from the ALLIKASILM nursery and grow a rare yellow raspberry in your own garden.

It is an autumn-fruiting (primocane) variety: the first berries ripen in mid-August and picking continues into September. The fruit is sweet, mildly aromatic and low in acidity, and birds tend to leave yellow berries alone.

Canes reach 1.5–2 m. Winter hardiness is very good (RHS H7), so it suits the Estonian climate well.

Agronomo patarimai

Planting. Plant in a sunny spot sheltered from wind, in fertile, humus-rich soil. Space plants about 50–80 cm apart in rows 1.5 m apart, with the crown at soil level.

Watering and feeding. Water regularly, especially during flowering and fruit ripening. Feed in spring with compost or a berry fertiliser; mulch keeps the soil moist.

Care. Autumn-fruiting raspberries are easy to prune: in late autumn or early spring cut all canes to the ground, and the new canes will fruit the same year. Remove excess suckers.

Gardener's tip. The berries are ripe when they turn a deep golden colour and pull off easily. Pick every 2–3 days.
