Advice from our agronomist
Planting Plant in spring or autumn in sun or part shade in fertile, moist soil. Space plants 2–3 m apart, 1 m for a hedge.
Watering Water in dry spells in the first years; later the plant manages on its own.
Pruning Cut shoots back by half in late winter or early spring to keep the shape and improve leaf colour. Do not eat the berries raw.
Feeding and winter care Feed in spring with compost or an organic fertiliser. Hardy; mulch young plants in the first winter.
