Advice from our agronomist
Planting. Sow in February–March in seed trays without covering the seeds – just press them into the compost and water. They germinate in 10–14 days at 18–20 °C. Plant out in late May at the same depth, 30–40 cm apart.
Watering and feeding. Celery needs evenly moist soil – water generously in dry weather or the stalks turn stringy. Feed 2–3 times in summer with compost tea or a vegetable fertiliser.
Care. Hoe the soil 4–5 times during the season and keep the bed weed-free; this variety needs no earthing up.
Gardener's tip. Harvest stalks gradually from the outside – the plant keeps growing and cropping until autumn.
