Apie prekę
Rowan "Burca" (Burka; a rowan × aronia hybrid, Sorbus aucuparia × Sorbaronia) is a rare fruiting hybrid bred in Russia by I. Michurin in 1920. It is distinguished by larger leaves and bigger fruit; the plant offered is 1.5–2 m tall in a 7 L pot.
The decorative dark purple edible berries are borne in clusters; the flesh is yellow with a pleasant tang. The foliage turns a beautiful reddish purple in autumn and in May the tree is covered with white flower clusters. A mature tree reaches about 4 m in height and spread.
Rowan "Burca" is undemanding and very hardy (down to −34 °C), copes well with drought and grows in sun or partial shade. The berries suit jam, juice and drying; cultivar data come from nursery catalogues (Promesse de Fleurs, RHS).

Agronomo patarimai
Planting. Plant in spring (April–May) or autumn (October) in a sunny or lightly shaded spot. Dig a hole about 60×60 cm and use garden soil with compost; keep 3–4 m from other trees. The root collar stays at soil level.
Care. Shape the crown in the first years, removing crossing and crowded branches; cut off root suckers. Mulch around the trunk with bark or compost to hold moisture and suppress weeds.
Watering and feeding. Water young trees regularly, especially in drought; mature plants are fairly drought tolerant. In spring apply a complete fertiliser or compost and in autumn a potassium–phosphorus feed.
Winter and pruning. The plant is very hardy (down to −34.5 °C) and needs no cover; in the first winter the trunk area can be mulched. Prune in late winter or early spring: remove dead, diseased and crowded branches.
