Advice from our agronomist
When to sow Sow directly in the bed in April, once the soil has thawed, 1–2 cm deep, rows 20–25 cm apart. Seeds germinate in 1–2 weeks.
Sowing Choose a sunny spot and light, fertile soil. Thin the plants to 5–8 cm apart.
Care Water regularly while the bulbs are growing and keep the bed weed-free. Reduce watering before harvest.
Feeding and harvest Feed once in mid-season, without overdoing nitrogen. Harvest in August–September, when the tops have fallen over; dry the bulbs before storing.
