Advice from our agronomist

Planting Plant from late April to early May once the soil has warmed, 3 cm deep so the tip is near the surface, 8–10 cm apart, with rows 20–25 cm apart. Choose a sunny spot with light, well-drained soil.

Watering Water evenly at the start of growth and in dry spells; stop two weeks before harvest.

Pruning Remove any flower stalks as soon as they appear.

Feeding and winter care Feed with a nitrogen fertiliser in spring and a balanced one in early June; do not use fresh manure. Grown as an annual crop; no overwintering is needed.
