About this product
Textile mulch — a black breathable fabric laid on the bed instead of weeding. Weeds need light to grow; black fabric does not pass it, and the bed stays clean all season without a single weeding.
Unlike plastic sheeting, textile passes water and air: rain reaches the roots, the soil breathes and no oxygen shortage builds up underneath. Moisture stays even — which is exactly why strawberries and squash crop noticeably better on fabric.

Advice from our agronomist
Clear the bed of perennial weeds before laying: couch grass and dandelion grow out from under the fabric and through the slits.
Bury the edges 10 cm deep or fix them with pegs — wind lifts a loose edge and tears the fabric.
Cut planting holes as a cross and tuck the corners in: a round hole frays and widens.
A thin layer of bark or woodchip on top stops the fabric degrading in sunlight and looks better.
Do not use it under annual vegetables that are re-sown every spring: there it is more nuisance than help.
