About this product
Eastern arborvitae Thuja occidentalis "Golden Brabant" is a narrow, columnar conifer with golden-yellow foliage that turns golden-bronze in winter, a favourite for hedges.
The mature plant reaches about 4-5 m in height and 1-1.5 m in width, growing roughly 20-30 cm a year. It suits dense hedging, a standalone accent and large containers.
Thuja "Golden Brabant" is hardy (USDA zones 3-4) and thrives in the Estonian climate. The golden colour is strongest in full sun.

Advice from our agronomist
Planting. Plant in spring or early autumn in a sunny spot, with a hole twice the width of the root ball. Space hedge plants 60-80 cm apart and keep the root collar at soil level.
Care. Prefers humus-rich, moist soil without standing water. Mulch with a 5 cm layer to keep the roots from drying out.
Watering and feeding. Water regularly in the first year, especially in dry spells, and feed with a conifer fertiliser in spring. Avoid excess nitrogen, which makes weak growth.
Winter care and pruning. Fully hardy; shield young plants from winter sun and snow load. Trim lightly in early summer if needed, never cutting into old wood.
