Advice from our agronomist
Planting. Plant in spring or autumn in a sunny site. In a hedge space plants 60-80 cm apart and keep the root collar level with the soil.
Care. Clip in spring before growth starts to keep the narrow shape. Bark mulch keeps the soil moist.
Watering and feeding. Water regularly, especially in the first year and in dry summers. Feed in spring with a conifer fertiliser.
Winter care. It overwinters well, but heavy snow can splay the narrow crown; tie branches loosely. Shade young plants from spring sun in the first winter.
