Canadian hemlock Tsuga canadensis "Jeddeloh" is a dwarf evergreen conifer with a low, spreading, nest-shaped habit and a dip in the centre. It grows slowly and reaches roughly 1–1.5 m in height and 1.5–2 m in width over the years.
The soft, bright green needles and gracefully arching branches give the plant a lush, lacy look, with fresh light green growth in spring. The cultivar is naturally dense and tidy and needs no pruning.
It suits rock gardens, shady borders, planting beside rhododendrons and heathers, and large containers. It prefers a moist, acidic and sheltered site.

Agronoma ieteikumi
Planting. Plant in April–May or in September while the soil is warm. Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball, blend the soil with acid peat or leaf mould and conifer litter (pH 5–6); keep the root collar level with the ground. Space plants 1–1.5 m. Site: part shade, sheltered from wind and hot sun.
Care. In the first two years never let the soil dry out; a 5–7 cm layer of bark mulch keeps moisture in and suppresses weeds. Hoe gently because the roots are shallow.
Watering and feeding. In dry weather water once a week (10–15 litres per plant). Feed in spring with a conifer fertiliser containing magnesium and stop feeding after July.
Winter care and pruning. Hemlock dislikes winter dryness and wind, so water in autumn until the ground freezes and wrap young plants in fleece. Established plants are hardy. No pruning is needed; remove only dead branches.
