Tulips (Tulipa)

Planting. Plant the bulbs in September to early October in a sunny or lightly shaded, well-drained spot, pointed end up. Plant about three times the bulb's height deep; wet places with standing water are not suitable.

Care. Water after planting and in a dry spring. After flowering remove the faded blooms but let the foliage die back naturally, so the bulbs store energy for next year.

Winter. In Estonia the bulbs normally overwinter in the ground; you may cover the bed lightly with mulch.
