Yellow bush bean Phaseolus vulgaris "Berggold" seeds, Nojaus sėklos 10 g
Seller: ALLIKASILM
About this product
Bush bean "Berggold" (Phaseolus vulgaris) is a yellow-podded dwarf French bean (wax bean) grown for its juicy young pods. Buy "Berggold" bean seeds (Nojaus sėklos, 10 g) in Estonia from the ALLIKASILM nursery.
The pods are golden yellow, fleshy and stringless, about 12–14 cm long. Plants stay 40–50 cm tall and need no support; the first pods are ready about 60–70 days after sowing.
Use the young pods boiled, braised, in soups, as a side dish or preserved; they also freeze well. The yellow pods are easy to spot among the leaves at picking time.

Advice from our agronomist
Planting. Sow directly outdoors in late May or June when the soil has warmed to at least 10–12 °C, 4–5 cm deep, rows 40 cm apart and 8–10 cm in the row. Do not grow beans in the same place more often than every 4–5 years.
Watering and feeding. Water moderately, especially during flowering and pod set. Beans fix their own nitrogen – feed sparingly with a potassium-phosphorus fertiliser or compost.
Care. Earth up the plants and keep the bed weed-free. Pick the pods young while the seeds are small – frequent picking encourages new pods.
Gardener's tip. Beans grow best in humus-rich, slightly alkaline soil; lime acid soil in autumn.
