Advice from our agronomist
Sowing Sow in late March to April under cover or on a windowsill and plant out 4–6-week-old seedlings in early to mid May, 50–60 cm apart.
Care Water evenly, mulch and hoe the soil, and feed with a nitrogen-rich fertiliser. Protect from cabbage white caterpillars and flea beetles with fleece.
Harvest Cut the heads once they are firm (August–October depending on the variety). Late varieties keep through winter in a cool cellar.
